Maybe so, maybe not. We’ll see.
When zooming out, you'll often realize that all those events that once seemed like complete tragedies ended up becoming blessings in the end.
Hello there beautiful people! My name is Ash Lamb, and this is The Visual Growth Letter. An illustrated newsletter about life and creativity.
Once a farmer and his son had a treasured stallion that helped them make a living.
ㅤ
One day, the horse escaped and the neighbors lamented, "Your horse ran away, what a terrible stroke of luck!"
ㅤ
The farmer replied, "Perhaps so, maybe not. We'll see."
ㅤ
A few days later, the horse returned home, leading a group of wild mares back to the farm.
ㅤ
The neighbors shouted, "Your horse has returned, and has brought along several horses with it. What fantastic luck!"
ㅤ
The farmer replied, "Maybe so, maybe not. We'll see."
ㅤ
Later that week, the farmer's son was attempting to tame one of the mares when she threw him off, causing him to break his leg.
ㅤ
The villagers cried out, "Your son broke his leg, what a terrible misfortune!"
ㅤ
The farmer replied, "Perhaps so, maybe not. We'll see."
ㅤ
A few weeks later, soldiers from the national army marched through town and enlisted all the able-bodied boys.
ㅤ
But they didn't take the farmer's son, who was still recuperating from his injury.
ㅤ
Friends exclaimed, "Your boy is spared, what incredible luck!"
ㅤ
The farmer replied, "Perhaps so, maybe not. We'll see."
ㅤ
The moral of this tale is that events cannot be definitively labeled as good or bad, fortunate or unfortunate, since only time can reveal the complete story.
ㅤ
Furthermore, since no one lives long enough to learn the full story, it is a waste of time to pass judgment on minor inconveniences as misfortunes or to expend a lot of effort on things that seem promising but may not work out in the long run.
ㅤ
Therefore, the wise approach is to live a balanced life, keeping an even-tempered attitude, and taking everything with a pinch of salt, whether it appears to be positive or negative.
ㅤ
Life is more comfortable and reassuring if we simply accept what we are given and make the most of our life circumstances.
ㅤ
Instead of constantly assessing things and categorizing them as good or bad, it is preferable to sit back and say, "It will be intriguing to see what happens."
ㅤ
Also, when zooming out, you'll often realize that all those events that once seemed like complete tragedies ended up becoming blessings in the end.
ㅤ
Have faith in the universe and you’ll get rewarded.
